Why do I get the error "curl_exec error 28" when I attempt to communicate with my payment gateway?

If you are attempting to complete an order through your liveSite and are using a payment gateway, then you may need to use a proxy. For example, if your web server is located behind a firewall that is preventing bi-directional communication with your payment gateway,  you will need route your communication  through a proxy.

To tell liveSite to use a proxy to communicate with your payment gateway, please enter a valid Proxy IP Address on the Site Settings.

NOTE: The use of a proxy is usually necessary if your are hosting liveSite on Godaddy.com servers. Typically, the following proxy address works for the GoDaddy network: proxy.shr.secureserver.net:3128.  If not, please contact your Network Administrator or Hosting Provider for more information.
