Mass Email to New Members

I want to import a large group of contacts to whom I've already assigned Member ID's. My plan is to send a mass email with registration instructions.

How can I assign this group to a Contact Group for the Campaign?

Is it possible to give them rights to a Private Folder en mass versus manually?

Also, can a Member ID be alphabetic charaters as well?

You can select groups to import into when you import contacts. See the import contacts screen for more info. If you are dealing with members then you will generally want to use membership access control, not private access control. Yes, a member ID can be alphabetic.
