Blog photos, videos

Posted by mbuford VIP on July 12, 2012

I've set up a blog on our home page and it seems to work fine with one exception. It does not allow people to submit photos, videos, etc. with their text. I assume this is some sort of security setting I need to change but I'm not sure where to look. Can someone direct me? Thanks!

mbruford,

Yes, it is for security reasons. As a matter of fact, you need to immediately change the text area field on your custom form within your page named "blog" so that the Rich-text Editor is not envoked for the field. The reason is that a bad person could submit malicious code using the Rich Text Editor and break into your website!

Enabling the Rich-text Editor within a custom form field is only recommended when the custom form page is protected within a private folder so only your trusted staff can use it.

While we have not had a case of this for liveSite yet, we may force this behavior in a future release.

Thank you,

Understand and can certainly do this. But I've discovered that when I do, all of the previous blog entries that were made using the Rich-text editor appear with HTML coding. Is there any way I can get around this?
