Inserting Form as a cregion

In version 8, for a "Custom" layout, can a form be inserted at a particular location on a page, using a cregion or similar method?

A custom form is actually displayed in a system region. So you could create a custom form page and add it's system region to another page's page style to embed it in another page. An example would be the sandbox's home page, which contains several embedded form list views:
