Password Box = invisible text

Posted by SpectrumKeys on May 26, 2012

WHen I sign in to any of my livesite accounts- either with subscription or not I am having an issue with the password box.

The text is invisible... not even a little dot to tell me if I have typed in anything or not.

Can't even see a cursor

If I have save a password I cannot tell if it is there. I usually have to click on the box and hit backspace then hit delete for a minute each to be sure it is cleared.... this is really annoying!

None of my other text boxes or forms do this and I do not have white as a text color (in fact it seems to happen as the default as this is the case right after I install). What is going on and how do I fix it?

Some versions of Internet Explorer show password fields as spaces if the font face is custom (which is the case with the liveSite default theme - it uses Google Web Fonts). You'll need to modify your Theme to see the asterisks that should be in the password field.

Here's how:

1) Edit your Theme

2) In the Theme Designer, go into the "Site Wide" fold, then into the "Form Fields" fold and change the "Font Family" field (to any font at the top of the pick list that does not start with a dash, like "Arial" for example).

3) Save your Theme.

4) Refresh your browser cache to force the new Theme to load.
