People always ask “Where did the name 'Camelback' come from?”
Our founder was on a consulting assignment in Phoenix, Arizona many years ago. After a long day of technology evangelism, he took a hike to the top of the Camelback mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona to decompress.
At the top of the mountain he sat, wondering how he could spend more time at home with his family (his first child was 2 years old at the time), and less time traveling on business each week.
It was there, realizing that the World Wide Web, which was still in it’s infancy, would eventually change everything for everyone. He realized that even non-profits with limited budgets could take advantage of the same technology used successfully within Fortune 500 companies.
So he decided right then and there to leave his career behind and start a web consulting company. Since he believed that technology is more about people than devices, he decided against a tech-sounding name, and, well, the rest is history.
Since that time, Camelback Web Architects has never wavered from the singular focus to harness the power of the web to improve people’s lives.
And in case you're curious, no, we don't sell water bottles. :)
