The liveMail™ email platform and architecture is a complex network of servers and services operating in harmony with one another with many monitoring applications and complex check and balances insuring service continuance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

IMAP Acceleration Technology

liveMail™ has designed our IMAP services to cache redundand commands issued by top email clients such as MS Outlook, MS Outlook Express, and Mozilla Thunderbird. Often these email clients ask the IMAP server for information that has not changed since the last request, we simply cache these results and return this data promptly to your email client.

Server and Service Redundancy

Each liveMail™ service is load balanced for both speed but also redundancy of operation, we have built the platform to insure no single point of failure.

Security Features

liveMail™ implements many security measures to insure your privacy and security. Because all of your email is stored on our servers and network it must have security in mind.

Web Security

liveMail™ implements 128-bit SSL encryption as the default communication method within your web browser for the web application interface.

IMAP Security

Our IMAP server supports SSL encryption via the default IMAP-SSL tcp port 995.

SMTP Security

Our SMTP server supports TLS SSL encryption via tcp ports 25, 2500, and mandatory TLS via tcp ports 463 and 2501. In addition liveMail™ will attempt to deliver all of your outgoing email via TLS SSL encryption with supporting destination SMTP servers.

Data Security

liveMail™ protects its network of servers with detailed network firewall lists that only allow specific traffic to the Internet.

Physical Security

We co-locate our liveMail™ servers with Equinix IBX Data Centers which provide extreme physical security with armed guards, access lists, robust power. Equinix IBX datacenters are also home to Hotwire, Amazon.com, Citi Corp, Google, Yahoo!, IBM, Verio, and about.com.

Staff Monitoring

While the liveMail™ platform is very stable there is no exception for human monitoring of all systems by our staff. Every component is proactivly monitored by staff 24x7x365 so that faults can be detected and repaired before they become critical and service/customer impacting.
